First up, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and what you do!

Hi, my name is Molly, and I am a Pilates and Barre Instructor at The Well Bondi and La Porte Space, and a Founding Instructor for Barry’s Australia. In my free time, I am a beauty and health writer and model.

What time do you wake up most days and how many hours of sleep do you aim for?

The truth comes out! My friends and colleagues get on to me about getting more sleep, so this is my ultimate downfall. I usually wake up between 4:30am and 5am most mornings, but get to bed around 11pm or midnight. Healthy? Not at all, but I’m definitely trying to work on it.

What’s your morning routine to set you up for a great day?

See below. I’d also like to add that on my way to work or training I listen to a podcast called My Favorite Murder. If you haven’t heard it, stop what you’re doing right now and go download it.

Describe a typical day of eating for you.

I usually eat 2 big meals and plenty of little snacks throughout the day. I start the morning so early, I’ll eat a snack before training and teaching, followed by a big brunch, afternoon snack, then dinner and dessert. This eating pattern works best for my schedule and body. I try to eat clean (avoiding processed foods and sugars), but I’m also never above a good chocolate chip cookie or BBQ dish. It’s all about balance and listening to your body!

Tell us about your daily beauty routine! What are your non-negotiables for looking and feeling your best?

I was very lucky to act as a features editor for a beauty website for some time, so beauty routines are my jam. Mornings usually consist of waking up around 4:30am and trying to muster up enough energy to stumble down to the coffee machine. It’s much too early to have a complicated beauty routine, so I’ll usually wash my face (Indie Lee Vitamin C wash) and follow it with Youth To the People’s Glow Serum and Peter Thomas Roth’s Hydration Serum. After slapping on some It Cosmetics CC Cream, NARS Creamy Concealer, Clinique Fit Mascara and RMS highlighter, I’m off to train or see the first clients of the day. Four Sigmatic’s Mushroom blends, Moon Juice’s Brain Dust and a green apple with Pic’s Chunky Peanut butter are morning time non-negotiables. Hopefully this list can eventually include healthy habits like meditation or a quick yoga flow, but one thing at a time!

Do you take any supplements, vitamins or special wellness elixirs? If so, we’d love to know!

I am a self-professed supplement junkie! The weirder the supplement, the more likely I’ll be to try it. At the moment, I’m taking a blend of Vitamin C and Rosehip, a Multivitamin, JS Health Energy and Hair, and The Beauty Chef’s Glow Powder. All of which, of course, are nothing without a healthy diet, though! For extra boosts, I rely on health tonics (think fireball tonics with ginger and oregano) and a warm cup of almond milk hot chocolate, made with Cacao powder and spiked with adaptogenic powders from Sun Potion.

Do you have an evening wind-down ritual?

Every night is different, but my husband and I spend every night together, whether spent reading, watching a show, or finishing some last minute work.

What are your top 3 wellness non-negotiables

They’re all very basic:

1. Move your body every day in any way. This could be walking, running, going to the gym, chasing around kids, dancing, anything!

2. Try something new, whether it’s food or an activity.

3. Nourish your body by eating well. You’d never expect your car to run on empty, so why do we expect our body to perform miracles when we don’t feed it correctly? You’ll notice an immediate difference once you start listening to what your body needs and eating a healthy, balanced diet.

Your absolute favourite healthy cafe in Sydney is?

The Well Café in Bondi Beach. Try the Green Omelet – you’re welcome.

Best place to get a green juice or smoothie in your city?

Definitely Orchard Street for a juice and I (unfortunately) don’t really drink smoothies!

What’s your fitness routine & favourite way to get sweaty and where’s your go-to?

I cannot sit still, so working out every day is a necessity for me to act like a productive human being. Every week I try to hit up my regular spots – Barry’s Bootcamp for Circuit Training, Boxing with Transpose Fitness, The Well for Pilates, Cycology for Cycling, Running and Sand Sprints around the eastern suburbs, and Weight Lifting with my trainer.

What’s the one beauty or wellness treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?

Edible beauty supplements! Your skin is your biggest organ, so the best way to make it glow is to feed it. Besides that, I have an obsession with Lymphatic Massages and Infrared Saunas – both of which I bounce around to different locations.

What beauty treatment/ wellbeing activity would you love to try but haven’t got around to yet?

In no particular order: Laser Hair Removal, Cryotherapy, a soup cleanse, and trying the Rationale skincare range.

Are you into any woo-woo wellness trends? (think crystals, sageing, tarot cards etc)

I’m super into adaptogens. Though there’s heaps of research coming out about the benefits, the super-herbs and mushrooms still haven’t quite caught on in the main market.

You’ve got a big event in 7 days time that you need to look incredible for. What’s your plan of attack to look & feel your absolute best?

I’ll cut out refined carbs, sugar, and dairy, add in a few extra infrared sauna sessions and stay regimented with my workout routines. Maybe a cheeky spray tan or salon visit.

And lastly… do you have any top secret tips you use to keep looking / feeling great?

You only look as good as you feel, so confidence is key. We are so critical towards ourselves, and for absolutely no reason! Have fun, smile, and enjoy life – the resulting mentality will make you beautiful.
