First up, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and what you do!

Hey, so I’m Cody and i am a yoga teacher, digital designer and the founder of Earth Pulls, where myself and trusty partner Lee Davies run international and Australian based yoga and freediving retreats. Aside from this I also run weekly yoga classes in Perth and a local one day event called Awaken & Align, who I run with Mel Howard from Twisting Peacock Yoga Studio and we are able to collaborate with a whole bunch of local artists from live music, juice stations, clothing & jewelry pop-up shops and a few more.

I have an infinite love for the ocean, animals and curiosity to move my body. I started practicing yoga around 12 years ago now, and watched it change my life, as cliche as that sounds, I have always had a love for eating well, and being active, (I have my Croation mother and Italian grandmother to thank for the food side).

What time do you wake up most days and how many hours of sleep do you aim for?

I wake up usually around 5am and aim for 8-9 hours sleep.

What’s your morning routine to set you up for a great day?

I have a glass of water, wash my face and go to yoga, or if its in my living room doga, (at least one of my pups likes to watch me)

Describe a typical day of eating for you.

Usually in the morning, its a whole lot of fruit, or a smoothie I usually have made the night before, then around 10am, I’m eating some homemade raw balls and possibly an almond milk latte, for lunch it’s usually a huge salad or soup, then afternoon snack will usually be nuts, oranges, bananas, whatever the local grocer has in season, I eat dinner quite early, so when it rolls around 6pm if I’m not teaching, the sky is the limit, usually stirfrys, curry, boiled vege, roasted potatoes and pumpkin with a decent sized salad, around 8pm I will have a tea and aim to be in bed by 9pm.

Tell us about your daily beauty routine! What are your non-negotiables for looking and feeling your best?

I always cleanse, tone, oil, moisturise my skin morning and night, throwing in exfoliating every couple of days. Especially before bed, something mum has taught me since I was young.

Do you take any supplements, vitamins or special wellness elixirs? If so, we’d love to know!

I always add my green powder into my smoothies, as well as hemp seeds, maca powder (help with my menstrual cycle), there is also always some kind of probiotic into the mix, and zinc tablets (helps keeping my hair strong and skin looking nice).

Do you have an evening wind-down ritual?

Peppermint or chamomile tea always, dog cuddles, wash my face, brush my teeth, read my book if its not too late.

What are your top 3 wellness non-negotiables?

- Sleep is a huge one for me
- Food and water, making sure I’m eating healthy food and enough of it too
- Laugh, try not to buckle under the pressure the world can sometimes bare.

Your absolute favourite healthy cafe in Perth is?

Ooooooo just one?! Id have to say Veggie Mamma in Mt Lawley

Best place to get a green juice or smoothie in your city?

Mr Herbert’s in Doubleview do a delicous green smoothie!

Favourite farmers market or healthy place to shop?

Farmers market: Stirling Farmers Market on Sundays! or my local IGA in Doubleview.

What’s your fitness routine & favourite way to get sweaty and where’s your go-to?

Well usually it’s yoga in the morning, followed by a run or even the other way around, depending on the day and my schedule, there is always a walk with the dogs in there, and in summer there is always an ocean swim.

If you could only wear one brand of activewear for the rest of your life it would be…

Mmmmm okay I’d have to say Lululemon, even though I LOVE and wear many brands, these guys just have lots of variety and good quality.

What’s the one beauty or wellness treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?

I’d say my eyebrows 🙂 It just changes your whole look, I only go to one place and that is at Total Brow in Mount Lawley, Sophie is my girl!

What beauty treatment/ wellbeing activity would you love to try but haven’t got around to yet?

The skin/laser facial thing, no clue what it’s proper name is but definitely want to try it out.

Are you into any woo-woo wellness trends? (think crystals, sageing, tarot cards etc)

To some extent I dabble in it all, but nothing I can lay down my life for, I like to find the balance in everything I do, cards for guidance when i need it, or certain crystals or oils/ balms to calm, focus me.

You’ve got a big event in 7 days time that you need to look incredible for. What’s your plan of attack to look & feel your absolute best?

Yoga, running, eating good food, drinking lots of water, call my girlfriend’s for support, meditate, sit alone or walk alone for a while, journal, play some music, read my cards, burn some incense, making sure I sleep enough, and get ORGANISED.

If you could have the ultimate day of wellness & happiness in Perth what would it involve and where would you go?

It would involve a run in the morning, followed by yoga, breakfast at Mr Herbert’s (acai bowl, coffee, juice)

Then a hike with the dogs, followed by an ocean swim, then lunch at Veggie Mamma, samosa with my choice of 3 salads, then a float, massage and facial, ready for dinner at Kitsch in Leederville, the papaya salad, noodle dish, this amazing cauliflower curry.

What’s your dream wellness vacay?

Somewhere by the ocean where I can free dive and swim, a place with lots of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, and yoga and spa treatments.

And lastly… do you have any top secret tips you use to keep looking / feeling great?

Yoga… aside from this I adopt a vegan lifestyle for a few years now and use all natural and ethical beauty products, but lastly and most importantly I be kind to myself.
