When you think of the well-loved tradition of brunch, it’s often French toast, pancakes and eggs on toast that come to mind — carbs being the common denominator — and while carbs are delicious, it’s not always friendly on our bodies. Whether you’re intolerant or simply someone that prefers to keep carbs to a minimum, we’ve got you covered with our favourite Paleo Brunch’s to look out for next time you’re out;

Paleo Pumpkin Bread Stack

Health Freak Café

With a whole section on their menu dedicated to paleo food, the highlight is most definitely the paleo pumpkin bread stack. Health Freak Café’s recipe for toasted pumpkin and zuchinni bread will not disappoint — especially when it’s topped with slices of fresh tomato, smashed avo, two poached eggs, sprouts and roast capsicum puree.

Smashed Avo on Honest Goods Bread

The Wolf Espresso

While it’s now a common breakfast staple, our favourite smashed avo on toast is now even better with Honest Goods Co’s paleo bread as the base, taking this well-loved brunch food to a whole other level.

Green Brekky Bowl

Little Bird Café

You simply can’t go wrong when bacon, poached eggs and avocado come together in one bowl, and The Little Bird Café in Northbridge do just that with their famous Green Brekky Bowl — packed full of greens, veggies and a generous serving of avocado, it’s the paleo brunch of dreams.

Harvest Breakfast

Nature’s Harvest

If you’ve been waiting ‘til brunch for a feed, it’s inevitable that a bit of hanger (hunger + anger) sets in… and if that’s the case, The Harvest Breakfast will sort you out. The perfect remedy for any hangry customer, Nature’s Harvest serve their famous brekky with cosy layers of veg, two organic poached eggs, mushrooms, spinach, grilled tomatoes, avocado and organic quinoa on linseed toast.

Mezze Board

The Raw Kitchen

Anything vegetarian, vegan or paleo isn’t much of an exception at The Raw Kitchen, it’s the rule and with a 100% gluten free menu, our favourite food for brunch is their Mezze Board with herbed gluten free focaccia with white bean & harissa dip, pea, mustard & mint dip, balsamic onion jam, turmeric pickled vegies and herbed cashew ‘goats’ cheese.

Bombay Chickpea Omlette

Pearth Organic Kitchen

Serving brekky and lunch daily, Pearth Organic Kitchen are reliable purveyors of a good paleo brunch. It was a hard choice between their gluten free Beetroot and Coconut

pancakes and the Bombay Chickpea Omlette, but the latter wins a special mention for inventiveness alone. With punchy Indian spices, seasonal veggies, a vegan-friendly chickpea based omelette, and cashew raita topped with a fresh spinach salad — this one’s hard to go past.

Mushroom Burger

Panache

Swapping out the bread for a field mushroom and the beef patty with fresh avocado, cabbage, tomato, avocado and a side of sweet potato chips — it’s the kind of brunch experience that’ll stick with you for a long time until you’ve gone back to Panache to try it again.
