And there is good reason too- it uses fresh produce and yet tastes amazing and flavourful (you almost forget it is clean and healthy!) For those not aware of the goodness that is poké, it is essentially a fresh salad or rice bowl with seasoning and cubed fish ranging from salmon to tuna and kingfish. It is a marinated fish salad native to Hawaii with Asian flare and flavour combinations. Sydney often sees any new food craze pop up, and suitably so, we have been spoilt for choice with cafes and outlets offering Poké bowls! If you’re interested in scouting them out, check the list out below! Nudefish Nudefish has quickly made a name for itself, being one of the first poké shops popping up in Sydney, exclusively offering poké bowls. If high quality and authenticity is a must, check out Nudefish as they offer toppings such as pea sprouts, fish roe, cashew coconut and edamame. Bonus: This place is vegan friendly with a build your own menu. At North Sydney, City and Bondi Beach. Poké Bowl Poké bowl is great for original style poké, but if you’re after a place with flair, check them out. They offer creative items such as Poked pork (slow cooked pork salad), grilled chicken teriyaki and tofu poké. The best part? Poké bowl deliver to local areas via Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Foodora! Locations include Cronulla, Surry Hills and Paddington. Poké Bros AU For our Western Sydney friends who need a suburban poker bowl spot without the commute, Poke bros is your go-to Cabramatta local. The best part of this place? They do student discounts, are available on Uber Eats and they have a loyalty program for poké lovers. Poké bros have stalls at local Sydney markets, so keep your eyes peeled! Kingfish Poké Bondi If you ever catch yourself on a trip to Bondi on the weekend and need a fresh fix, Kingfish is located in Bondi junction serving up fish with a hip hop flare. Kingfish offer up bowls named after R&B artists (such as Kendrick and Bey), meaning you don’t feel like you’re just ordering a boring seafood salad. All bowls are dairy and gluten free, so poké can be enjoyed by everyone! Nama Want a fresh lunch located in the heart of the city? Nama thrives itself on fresh and pure ingredients and unlike every lunch spot in the CBD, they close at 8:30pm. Perfect for after work poké bowl sesh! If that doesn’t swing you, they also serve acai bowls for your sweet but healthy brekky needs! Bonus points for serving up Kombucha alongside their bowls. The Mill and Co They might not specialize in poké , but that doesn’t take away from the quality of their food. The Mill and Co offer chicken or tuna options for their bowl, which are served with kale and sweet potato. Any North Sydney locals will love this health spot at Manly. Momo Bar Another healthy cafe located in Manly, lies Momo bar, which is famous for its Poké bowls and asian dumplings. Momo have a wide menu which offers vegan, gluten free options, as well as preorders through the Hey You app speeding up your take away orders. If you need further convincing, they were included in Time Out’s 2017 list of high rated eateries! The Henson Located in the Inner West, The Henson offers up a variety of asian inspired dishes amongst their Salmon Ceviché poké bowl. Located in Marrickville, The Henson offers a family friendly venue for any poké lovers struggling to get their hit outside of the city. Their salmon bowl includes avocado, pickles, coconut rice, kimchi and a generous amount of salmon to keep you satisfied.
