Here are 10 stores to shop at that not only provide a pleasant and uncrowded shopping experience, but have their ethics in the right place too:

 

THE RAW KITCHEN ZERO STORES

Fremantle

Giant, pink and white crystal lamps decorate the store, along with charming French market baskets, candles and beautiful ceramic. The Raw Kitchen is the top of our list for Christmas shopping. Their store is the only 100% plastic free shop in WA, and beats most gift stores around town in terms of selection too. Find everything from cookbooks, beautiful jewellery and personal care. The only trouble here, is trying not to spend money on yourself.

 

REMEDY

Fremantle and Leederville

Virtually everything in Remedy’s store, is made with natural materials. From soft leather bags and wallets, wooden designer items for the home and a whole wall dedicated to selling nearly the entire skincare range from Aesop. They take great care to source products for sustainable living and sell a large range that also includes linen sheets, handmade jewellery, toys for the kids. Their shop is full of both design, and eco conscious gifts.

 

OXFAM

CBD and Fremantle

This not for profit organization is working to eradicate poverty, with volunteers running each Oxfamshop. They sell unique wares that are handmade using traditional techniques from cultures all over the world. Unlike many exploitative fast-fashion companies, their products are all ethically sourced too. You’ll find everything from wall hangings, candles, homewares, clothing, jewellery and toys for the little ones.

If you’re down south, Ecoo is the place to go to fill the kids Christmas stockings. They do a huge range of handmade toys and games with all your classics like jenga, naughts and crosses and domino’s. There’s also plenty of gifts for the big kids too, from homewares, clothing, and even bamboo underwear.
