Jamie’s Ministry of Food

Mt Gravatt and Ipswich
From $35 per day
Love Jamie Oliver’s recipes? Want to upskill yourself or your children these school holidays? Jamie’s Ministry of Food is on tour right around Australia this summer so if you have a budding chef in the family this might be the opportunity they’ve been waiting for!
School holiday courses run in January in Mt Gravatt and Ispwich, and both adults and children over the age of 12 years are welcome to participate. Groups are kept to a maximum of 12 for plenty of hands-on learning. Book online here and don’t delay, as these are selling out quickly.

Kite Wishes Project

Museum of Brisbane
$30 family pass
This season, the Museum of Brisbane features the life and essence of Mao’s Last Dancer Li Cunxin, in the form of never-before-seen interviews, performance footage and personal artefacts of one of Australia and China’s most celebrated dancers. Alongside this exhibition is the Kite Wishes Project, collaboration between Museum of Brisbane and BrisAsia Festival.
Kites became an important metaphor for Li’s life as his career soared beyond the impoverished commune of his childhood to the ballet stages of the world. Discover one man’s incredible journey from poverty to world-famous artist and take an active part in Li’s story by designing your own kite at the museum.
Then fly your kite high in the kite procession as part of BrisAsia’s Kisaragi-Sai Festival on 24 February. The procession starts at King George Square and concludes at the Roma Street Parklands.
