The Best Organic Farmers Markets in Brisbane

Farmers markets are not only a great way to find amazing fresh produce that is nicely priced, they are also a perfect excuse to spend your weekend mornings strolling in the sunshine with a coffee. With heaps of markets across Brisbane you’re sure to find one in a suburb near you. Here are some of our favourites!

Jan Powers Farmers Markets

First and foremost, the Jan Powers Farmers Markets offer a market experience full of community driven culture selling organics, fresh farm produce, flowers and artisan products. Currently at four convenient locations across Brisbane, you’ll be making excuses to pop in!

Powerhouse Farmers Markets, every Saturday 6am – 12pm. At the Brisbane Powerhouse New Farm.

Brisbane City Farmers Markets, every Wednesday 8am – 6pm. Top end of Queen Street Mall.

Mitchelton Farmers Markets, the 1st Sunday of each Month from 6am – 12pm.

Manly Farmers Markets, 1st and 3rd Saturday every Month from 6am – 12pm.

Milton Markets

On Sunday mornings surrounding an old weatherboard Queenslander in Milton, an abundance of multicultural food trucks, fresh fruit and vegetables, organic and gourmet providores intermingle with art, craft and fashion, all designed to stimulate your senses. There is plenty of shaded seating and local live music for you to enjoy while sipping on your nut milk coffee from the popular vegan coffee stall. Added bonus – Milton markets are dog-friendly – so bring along your pooch or sit back and play some dog spotting!

Eagle Farm Markets

Eagle Farm is one of Brisbane’s largest markets with over 100 stalls, welcoming around 2,500 every Sunday morning. In addition to a wide selection of fruit and vegetables, Eagle Farm boasts a selection of great seafood and quality meat products, gourmet delights and a stunning array of flower and plant stalls. Offering engaging entertainment with popular Brisbane musical acts attracting the locals and plenty of kid friendly activities including face painting and a bouncy castle – Eagle Farm Markets are a great way to spend your Sunday morning.

Northey Street Organic Markets

Northey Street City Farm in Windsor is a personal favourite of ours.  With a strict organic only policy and a strong focus on ecology, you know that you’re getting the best quality produce grown in a sustainable manner. Looking for more than fruit and vegetables? On the first Sunday of every month the City Farm turns into an Upcycle Market with stalls and suitcases full of repurposed and sustainably produced art, craft and clothing. Northey Street is pet and busker friendly, making it a vibrant place to spend your Sundays.

Eumundi Markets

Just an hour and a half North of Brisbane CBD, Sunshine Coast’s Eumundi is home to Australia’s premier artisan market and we’re telling you – it’s worth the drive! With a wealth of fresh produce including organic fruit and vegetables and locally made cheese and yoghurt, you’re sure to stock up on quality goods for the week! Eumundi is also a foodie’s dream with tastes from across the world so when you need a break from shopping you can sit back, tantalise your taste buds while enjoying the local cultural entertainment or pop into Noosa for a swim on your drive home.

The Green Shed Markets

In the picturesque surrounds of Tamborine Mountain, just an hour South West of Brisbane is the Green Shed Markets. This non-for-profit market provides a service to local small farmers and growers selling a wide variety of seasonal fruit and vegetables with prices set to provide the local farmers a sufficient return. The Green Shed Markets also sell fresh flowers, honey, nuts, herbs and plants, all at fair price.
