Where to Find Free Fitness Classes in Perth

Whether your New Year’s resolutions are off to a slow start, or you’re looking to freshen up your fitness routine without breaking the bank; Perth has plenty of free fitness classes that you probably didn’t know about. From free yoga sessions, running clubs and boot camps, the crew at Green Goodness Co have sifted out the best free classes going round to keep your pockets full and your body fit;

Tonic Yoga

Northbridge

On the first Friday of every month at 5.30pm, Tonic Yoga offer a free or by donation community class with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders. Leading a 60-minute flow to restore and re-invigorate the body, their community class is the perfect opportunity to try out yoga for the first time or simply practice for a good cause. No bookings required, just bring yourself and some cash if you’d like to donate. Also, Tonic Yoga is holding free meditation every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at our their venue 140 Perth Wellness from 12.50pm to 1.10pm!

Lululemon Yoga

Free yoga is a standard for Lululemon and they like to change up their yoga teachers on a monthly basis; classes will run every Thursday from 7am during the month of March — check out their website for updates on who’s teaching and what’s on offer for the rest of 2017.

Another amazing offering by Lululemon; The Perth Run Collective (PRC) is a social running movement that welcomes people of all levels to join their free sessions held at 5.45pm every Tuesday and Thursday arvo, from the Claremont and Perth City Store. Also launching from Clarko Reserve at Trigg from 8am on a Sunday, PRC are a great way to get acquainted with some of Perth’s best running trails and to swap wellbeing and running tips with a likeminded community.

HBF Fitness

Offering free fitness across 21 different locations for members, HBF run boot camp style sessions for beginners, intermediate, advanced and family programs over 8 weeks for people of all ages and fitness levels. Their current season focuses on functional fitness and wholesome movement that’s in line with how the body is actually designed to move; from strength training, cardio fitness and cool down sessions, their sessions are a great way to get fit and get to know like-minded people from you neck of the woods.

Live Life, Get Active

East Perth

Thanks to support from the local government, Live Life, Get Active are able to offer fitness sessions and yoga in the park absolutely free. At 6.30 every Thursday morning, head to the Piazza lawn for the best wake-up call of your life. Crossfit is notorious for its high intensity, but don’t let this turn you off joining in as they welcome all levels and the more you go, the easier it’ll get.

FreeDance Classes

North Perth

If dancing is something that’s been hiding away on the bucket list for a while now, then why not dust it off in the name of fitness? Partner dancing is a funalternative to get some cardio into your weekly routine and Danza Loca offer free introductory classes at 7pm every Tuesdayat the Mustang Bar, including Salsa and Merengue and if you’ve caught the bug and want to stay for a boogie, there’s social dancing with free entry from 9.30pm so you can continue to dance the night away.

Parkrun

Organising free weekly 5km runs all around the world, Park Run is the global fitness phenomenon that takes place in Perth at 8am every Saturday. With 16 parkrun locations throughout WA organised by local volunteers, Parkrun is open to all ages and all abilities, from the veteran runners among us to those that are a little more turtle than hare — they won’t discriminate if you’re a slow ‘n’ steady type. Register for free on their website, print out your bar code and when you’ve completed your run, collect your token to scan against your barcode so they can email your results, including the number of runs you’ve done, your personal best and how you went in your age category.
