As the world is becoming increasingly health conscious, more restaurants and cafes are putting a focus on sourcing seasonal and local produce and some of them are even sourcing organic where possible. With this new generation of hospitality venues opening up shop on Perth’s beautiful coastline, we can expect to find menu’s that serve more consciously sourced wholefoods and plenty of options for people with specific dietary requirements. Here are some of our favourite healthy spots with a view in Perth;
Sorrento Beach Shack
Hillarys
Overlooking the Hillarys Marina, Sorrento Beach Shack is a triple threat; with amazing views, excellent coffee and menu that’s as healthy as it is delicious. You’ll find all your favourites on the brekky menu, from chia pudding, dukkha spice plate and avocado and feta smash. Their range of desserts comes completely refined-sugar and guilt-free, from their famous lemon lime cheesecake and their vegan cookies ‘n’ cream donut, this one’s a must try.

Health Freak Cafe Scarborough
Scarborough
With a menu that’s completely free of refined sugar and gluten, Health Freak Café cater to every dietary need under the sun and it’s become a popular safe-haven for vegans, vegetarians, raw, paleo and the high protein crew among us – whatever your jam, these guys don’t discriminate. Grab a healthy brekky or soak up the view with a morning coffee, chai latte or a treat from their range of healthy desserts.

Toast
East Perth
Purveyors of delicious things that are void of gluten, the ironically named Toast re define what it means to eat a humble piece of toast. Overlooking the swan river and the occasional dolphin, you can pair the beautiful view with a variety of their elaborate toast combos, from their apple, blue cheese, honey, fig and walnut toast, to their hummus, roast tomato and basil on Turkish bread. If you’re after something a little more involved, may we tempt you to their cheesy vegemite scrambled eggs, cauliflower zucchini fritters or their range of savoury crepes? We thought so.

North Beach Deli
An establishment with the word “Deli” at the end of it is always a good sign - and the North Beach Deli is no exception. This is not your average Deli though; boasting views of the ocean and an extensive menu for brekky, lunch and dinner, their classic continental deli style produce is just the tip of the iceberg – from bagels, fresh juice and salads to takeaway, the only problem you’ll encounter here is the paradox of choice.

There tranquil café was created by the designers of Michael and Hamish and their all day menu changes based on what’s in season and includes fresh open sandwiches, raw delights and oat or chia seed breakfast jars.

Their coffee is great, their food is fresh and homemade with plenty of options if you’re vegetarian or gluten free available including fresh salads, gluten free cakes, patties, organic preserves and roast vegetable paninis.

Odyssea
City Beach
Post up at Odyssea’s balcony and watch the waves roll in from the high vantage point on the street. Their prime real estate overlooking City Beach makes for a relaxing spot to enjoy a healthy breakfast crafted by their brilliant executive head chef Alan Spagnolo and his commitment to local producers and seasonal whole foods. Their brekky menu is particularly noteworthy, with things like warm gingerbread, gluten free granola and roast pumpkin, mushrooms and fennel on sourdough toast topped with a soft boiled egg and some siracha yoghurt for good measure.

Trigg
Serving salad trays of house smoked salmon and confit tuna and delicious things like salmon poke with ponzu, wasabi mayo, seaweed salad and brown rice — Canteen in Trigg is our newest healthy addiction. The best part about Canteen is the fact that they’re conveniently located a few hundred meters from the white sands of Trigg Beach, making it the perfect spot for a post-swim breakfast and cup of coffee.

Leighton
The newest addition to Leighton Beach’s collection of cafes, The Orange Box is like an old fashion kiosk with a design-savvy twist.
